I have a very similar, if not the same, problem: I have bipolar disorder, and so much (almost all of) the time, I take two .5mg tablets os Klonopin around bedtime, due to the "hypomania" that keeps me awake otherwise. Now, my psychiatrist does not approve of this, being that I am an addict, and Klonopin is in the same family as Valium, so it is addictive, therefore the use of it may lead to abuse of it, then other "street" drugs, thereby making my psychiatric care ineffective/my life unmanageable (to say the least, and so on. Anyway, my psychiatrist does not prescribe me this, so who does? My regular MD, to whom I claim I'm having "anxiety attacks," and, not to take the focus off myself, but this Good ol' Boy will, I know, write me virtually any Rx I make a case for. So, I know what I'm doing isn't right, but this damn mania drives me crazy, and I just wanted to get this off my chest, and let you know you're not alone. I'll pray to "the gods" for us
