Who We Are

The Maryland Troopers Association, Inc. is the largest employee organization within the Maryland State Police. The membership totaling 2,000 consists of 1,500 current troopers, 300 retired troopers and approximately 200 police communicators and administrative support personnel.

A few of the projects currently supported by the Maryland Troopers Association, Inc. are life insurance, spousal death benefits and legal assistance for its own members.

Some of the accomplishments the Maryland Troopers Association, Inc. has made over the years are:

Assisted with passage of bills for public safety and law enforcement.
Offers reward when a trooper is killed or injured and the suspect is still at large.
A $50,000 life insurance policy for members and financial support in instances of child or spousal death.
The police officers Bill of Rights.
MTA was the first police organization to approve mandatory drug testing.
Provide educational scholarships for dependents of troopers.
Provide assistance to Civic Organizations across the state.
