| Posted by peg on August 03, 2003 at 08:53:33: My son turned 25 yrs old recently and moved in with me a year ago. When he was 16 I had him admitted to an adolescent lock-down unit for a suicide attempt. At the time he was diagnosed as having a drug and alchohol problem. Three years later was diagnosed as bi-polar. Two week ago he was arrested here in NY for purse snatching. While in jail he was evaluated and diagnosed as a borderline schizophrenic. He admitted he has been using cocaine for the past three years, alchohol, and marijuana. He needs help desperately; inpatient program preferrably. He has no insurance and he has depleted all my funds. We have a court date on the 6th of August. The DA wants to indict him. Prison is not the answer here. Treatment for his dual diagnosis is. If anyone can give me some insight as to where I should go, please let me know. |
