In my day to day work, which I have been involved in for sixteen years, I still find myself getting angry for those staying with us who do not fit neatly into the catagories of the statutory agencies and so are left to fend forthemselves.

I would like to answer your question, coming from having a mental illness and an alcohol and drug addiction that i think the majority of users i have met over the last 6 years, turn to alcohol and or drugs as an escape from their mental state and so most of the time dual diagnosis comes hand in hand. its about time that doctors stopped and asked their patients why they drink or take drugs.
